Dental veneers are very thin porcelain covers that fit over the forward facing part of the tooth to mask severe staining, cracking or misalignment. Veneers are often used where braces cannot be used to correct misalignment or tooth whitening is insufficient to correct very deep staining.
Dental veneers are similar in principle to false finger nails but the placement procedure is somewhat more detailed and does involve removal of a small layer of tooth to accommodate the veneer. If cared for correctly, veneers can last up to ten years
Reasons for a dental veneers:
- Crooked teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Severely discolored or stained teeth
- Teeth that are too small or large
- Unwanted or uneven spaces
- Worn or chipped teeth
